Raw stuff - Celery

In European herbal medicine celery is used for arthritis and rheumatism problems - when joints, muscles and tendons are sore, swollen, stiff.
Celery seeds contain a volatile oil which stimulates the clearance of waste products by the kidney - especioally the elimination of urates that often cause inflamation and stiffness of muscular-skeletal system. Celery seeds are traditionally used to ease the morning joint and muscle stiffness and pain, as well as for clearing fluid accumulation linked to arthritis. It also helps in relieving symptoms of gout.

The juice from stem and leaf aids detoxification and weight loss, and this juice is suitable for people with a tendency to fluid retention.
Both juice and seeds of celery stimulate urine flow and can prove useful as part of an approach to treating high blood pressure.

One more: celery seeds relieve wind and bloating.
